   College of engineering Cherthala is one among the leading technical institutions in Kerala since its venture in 2004.Within a short span of time since its emergence CEC has become successful in establishing itself as a leading premier professional educational institution by providing its excellence in the field of science and technology .It is under the management of IHRD, an establishment of Government of Kerala. Located on the brink of bluish Vembanad lake and blessed by scenic natural beauty, the college focuses on the overall development of students, preserving and upholding the traditional and human values supplemented by strong and solid foundations of technical and scientificknowledge, enabling them to meet the challenges of future successfully.

   The college offers 4 year B.Tech degree course in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, affiliated with the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).

Management

Institute of Human Resource Development is the governing institution of the college. It was established in 1987 with an objective to evolve into an institution of excellence to serve the emerging knowledge based society .Within a short span of time IHRD has grown into a network of more than 60 institutions including 9 engineering colleges. IHRD is dedicated to scientific advances, technological progress and economic growth of the country through human resource development. It shall endeavor to adhere to the principle- " think globally and act locally" - sothat it can provide education and training of consistently high standards through innovative and versatile programmes.

College of engineering Cherthala is affiliated to Cochin University of Science And Technology (CUSAT), a pioneer among technical universities in India .CUSAT is the most sought after university in India and has got around 25 departments of science and technology alone and various non engineering courses. While striving to meet the expectations of the security , the university has made quantum leaps in its academic pursuits and has spread its wings far wide to encompass new and emerging frontier across the academic horizon.
